Once upon a time, in 1985, a group from across Ontario traveled to Haiti on a Poverty Awareness Trip.  Two of the travelers, Ray Wyrzykowski and John Barnfield returned home inspired by what they had experienced.  They told their stories to many people throughout South-Western Ontario and inspired others to go and experience life in Haiti for themselves.  The Rayjon Organization was born in January 1986.

Twenty-four years later, 3000 people have  participated in a Rayjon trip and have experienced first hand the richness of life in many Developing countries.  The organization also supports two development projects in Haiti.

Significant to Rayjon is that both Community Development projects in Haiti are run totally by Haitian staff.  Our Haitian field directors have a direct say in selecting, prioritizing, planning and implementing the projects.  Canadian volunteers work closely with the teams of Haitian employees to provide technical support as and when needed.

Development and Aid are also offered to people in Dominican Republic, Central and South America and countries in Africa.

Rayjon’s powerful Vision is to be: caring communities building partnership through education, development and aid.

Our objective is to foster lasting improvements in the quality of life in Haiti, Dominican Republic and other Developing countries; as well as, to raise awareness and understanding in our communities of the situation in Haiti, Dominican Republic and other Developing countries.

Rayjon has a guiding belief that quality of life is justice, not charity.
