Congratulations to Rayjon’s Youth!
We think the youth involved in Rayjon are awesome (because they are), but when those in our community see it too, then it really becomes something to be proud of!
Two of our Youth Committee members applied for The Norma & Edward Cox Overall Volunteer Award recently through St. Clair Catholic District School Board. The award is designed to recognize high school graduating students who volunteer their time with charitable organizations and non-profit groups in the Sarnia-Lambton area.
Both Youth members, Celine McGarvey and Mary Crawford received the award of a $4,000 scholarship and $4,000 for their organization.
In addition to this incredible accomplishment, Mary Crawford also won the main overall award of $12,000!
We are incredibly proud to announce that Mary has received a total of $16,000 not only to go towards her education but also an additional $16,000 to go towards Rayjon.
Simply amazing.
Go Rayjon Youth!
Rayjon’s Youngest Youth Member
Our youngest youth member, Maddissen Howes, successfully ran her own fundraiser event, raising $560.00 for Rayjon’s Scholarship Fund.
After joining our team in grade seven, attending youth meetings, and volunteering at Rayjon events, Maddissen offered her idea to do run an after-school dance at her school, Holy Trinity. With the support of other youth members and the staff of her school, Maddissen’s event was a huge hit!
Other elementary schools in the Sarnia area were invited to join and the kids in the community danced the afternoon away!
Thanks for running your first successful event, Maddissen!
