2019 #BalanceforBetter

“Investing in women and girls is the single most promising economic, political, and social opportunity of our time. 2019 should be the year we treat it that way.”

These were Megan O’Donnell’s words in a recent article in Devex.

In 2019-2020 Rayjon is partnering with a grassroots Women’s Federation in rural Haiti to build capacity of local women to advocate for their communities and achieve their goals. Together we plan to expand access to microcredit programming.

Leaders of a Haitian Women’s Federation join hands in solidarity and celebration. Acting on their conviction that the voice of each woman matters, they are transforming their communities and inspiring us to do more.

March 8th, 2019 is International Women’s Day–an annual, global celebration which issues a strong call-to-action to press forward on gender equality initiatives and the empowerment of women globally. The theme for IWD 2019 is #BalanceforBetter.

As we prepare for International Women’s Day, we are fundraising to support women’s initiatives in Haiti in 2019-2020- initiatives that we believe will empower Haitian women and help them to develop their potential, improve their communities, and achieve their goals.

Will you help us empower women in Haiti?

Haitian women, particularly those in rural areas who are part of local Women’s Federations, are doing lots of amazing things to better their communities and to break the cycle of poverty. Rayjon partners with them to support adult literacy, microcredit, health, and training programs—empowering beneficiaries to better support their families, advocate for their rights, and achieve gender equality.

Please help us support improved access to

• literacy classes      • training in leadership, business and finances

• microcredit loans

Funds raised will:

a) Support Int’l Women’s Day celebrations in Haiti, drawing widespread attention to both the issues faced by, and the extraordinary work in progress by women in Haiti;

b) Support seven chapters of rural Haitian Women’s Federations in meeting their goals in 2019-2021
