When Leana first came to the Rayjon-supported C-NEW-C Centre in Cap Haitian, Haiti, her two little boys were suffering from malnutrition and she was struggling to provide for her family. With help from Rayjon, her children were treated by a caring nurse while Leana learned to prevent malnutrition and prepare healthy meals.
Women like Leana have the power to create change in their communities. We believe that change starts with education and empowerment.
In 2017 Leana enrolled in Alpha Literacy classes. She is now in Level II, continuing to build her confidence and knowledge. Her sons, Kenson and Julson, are rambunctious and healthy and are now in the preschool program at the Centre. The nurse checks in on them frequently, making sure they continue to develop physically, mentally, and socially. While they interact and play with their peers, Leana can access additional life skills classes (like basic home finances, health & hygiene, cooking for a family, sewing and more!).
