Rayjon has a rich 32 year history of supporting awareness and community development projects in rural and urban settings in Haiti, and more recently in the Dominican Republic.
Community Development seeks to empower individuals and groups of people by providing them with the skills they need to effect change in their own communities. Rayjon’s goal is to provide starting materials and education so residents of these communities are better able to improve the quality of their own lives.
The C-NEW-C (Centre for Education for Women and Children, formerly called the Sacred Heart Centre) is located in the heart of urban Cap Haitian and serves a marginalized community of beneficiaries. There are four key programs that seek to empower families to develop health and self-sufficiency: Education, Nutrition Program, Life Skills Programs, and the Help-Age Program (please use navigation at right).
