The Life Skills Programs are an extension of the Nutrition Program, meaning that the programs assist the parents to gain knowledge to keep their families healthy, prepare nutritious meals, develop self-esteem and create job opportunities. In this way, we help parents to break the cycle of poverty.
During 3 months of training parents study such topics as nutrition and food preparation, disease prevention, family planning, hygiene, domestic violence prevention, financial literacy, and sewing. The program aims to equip participants with practical, employable skills and knowledge and confidence to help them better care for their families.
Alpha literacy classes are also available to provide beginner and intermediate levels of reading and writing.
